About the Role:
The School of Electrical Engineering, Computing and Mathematical Sciences (EECMS) is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable academic with proven teaching skills and experience across the specific field of Quantum Physics, to develop and deliver high quality teaching programs in the Bachelor of Science (Physics). This will include lecturing at various undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and supervision of student research projects at undergraduate, Honours and Master’s and PhD levels. You will also have the opportunity to develop your own research program and be part of the Quantum Physics research group, with a focus on heavy projectile collisions with atoms and molecules.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Actively contribute to the organisation, planning, delivery and evaluation of teaching in our Bachelor of Science and Master of Science (Physics) programs.
• Demonstrate best practice, innovative teaching methods which enhance the student experience.
• Undertake world-class research, resulting in research student completions, publications in high impact peer-reviewed journals and successful grant applications.
• Actively engage with the Physics discipline and promote a positive and inclusive work environment.
• Apply relevant health and safety standards, including required responsibilities of Supervisors for practical classes and research students.
• Promote the discipline within and outside the University community by engaging in service and leadership roles, as well as outreach activities.
• In all interactions with staff and students, demonstrate the University values of integrity, respect, courage, excellence and impact.

Essential Criteria:

Formed in 2017, EECMS unites Curtin’s core expertise in physics, electrical engineering, computing, mathematics, and statistics to better understand and advance our data-driven world. As part of Curtin’s Faculty of Science and Engineering, EECMS is one of the university’s largest schools, with a rapidly expanding teaching and research portfolio. The School is at the forefront of emerging fields, including Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Quantum Technologies, Energy Informatics, and Immersive Technologies. Our teaching programs are delivered across Curtin’s global campuses.

The Physics and Astronomy discipline at Curtin University is a dynamic and research-intensive team within EECMS. With internationally recognised strengths in Quantum Physics, Radio Astronomy, Space Science, and Applied Physics, the team plays a leading role in major global collaborations such as the Square Kilometre Array (SKA) project and operates the Murchison Widefield Array (MWA). The group fosters a vibrant academic environment, combining cutting-edge research with high-quality teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate programs.
