About the Portfolio
Property Services has approximately 75 staff and has responsibility for the operation, maintenance, utilisation and enhancement of buildings owned and leased by RMIT University. Property Services oversees construction projects and ensures the provision of physical facilities services. The Group has an operating budget in excess of $75m and current capital projects are significant. RMIT's built environment involves approximately 124 buildings spread across all of RMIT's campuses and sites. The capital stock of the University is diverse and valued at approximately $2 billion and includes heritage and other classifications.

RMIT has just completed a bold and inspiring Master Plan for its Australian sites, the Living Places Plan, which is set to launch this year. This foundational strategy will set our course for vibrant, sustainable, and inclusive campus communities, driving innovation across every corner of RMIT.
As we begin to integrate the Living Places Plan into our Property Services operations, you’ll play a pivotal role in aligning our work with RMIT's strategic frameworks like the Knowledge with Action Horizon 2 roadmap, the Property Plan, the Capital Development Plan, and related strategies.

About You:
You bring advanced communication, negotiation, organisational and commercial skills, along with demonstrated experience driving outcomes in program/project delivery and people management. You are a proactive leader, passionate about creating fit-for-purpose, sustainable solutions, and committed to continuous improvement.
Skills & Experience
Lead and manage a team of Project Managers and professional staff to deliver assigned capital programs and projects throughout all phases of project delivery, ensuring high-performance standards and that time, quality, and cost targets are met.
Develop and implement continuous improvements and best practice in the capital projects space, ensuring alignment with University and industry standards and policies.
Provide strategic and operational reporting, expert advice, and regular updates to Property Services and the University executive on program/project progress, costs, risk, design, procurement, contracts, construction, and handover.
Collaborate closely with members of the Property Services management team to deliver initiatives that address day-to-day deliverables and broader strategic requirements.
Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships, balancing needs, service, and University-wide interests.
Lead high-performing internal staff and external consultancy teams, promoting professional development and alignment with RMIT values.
Champion environmentally sustainable and accessible design, construction site safety, and OHS compliance across project delivery.
