Department: Zaven and Sonia Akian College of Science and Engineering (CSE) Contract type: Full-time Job location: Yerevan, the capital of the Republic of Armenia
Position Overview: The Akian College of Science and Engineering’s BS in Data (https://cse.aua.am/ds/ ) invites applications for a visiting faculty position, starting in July 2026. The visiting faculty members at AUA are expected to teach one or two courses per semester, and pursue an active research agenda during the visit. We seek a visiting faculty who will contribute to our vibrant academic community through teaching, mentoring, and innovative research. This position is ideal for scholars on sabbatical leave, Fulbright scholars, or others seeking a visiting appointment for one semester, a year, or longer.

Responsibilities:
1)Teach courses in the bachelor’s program in data science, such as Introduction to Bioinformatics, Cheminformatics, and Biostatistics 2)Contribute to curricular and programmatic developments 3)Engage in research in the fields of bioinformatics or other domains relevant to data driven biosciences 4)Publish findings in high impact journals 5)Mentor students in their academic and research pursuits, including capstone and thesis supervision and independent studies 6)Participate in program, college, and university service activities 7)Perform other duties assigned by the Dean
Qualifications:
1)Requirements for this position include: 2)PhD degree in bioinformatics or a related field. 3)Hold a professorship at a U.S. or European university in bioinformatics, or a closely related discipline 4)Documented experience in student supervision, including thesis/capstone projects 5)Track record of successful grant applications and funding from Horizon Europe or the National Science Foundation (NSF)
Additional Information
Compensation: Compensation is commensurate with the university-wide pay scale and will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
