Position Summary
This recruitment will be used to fill one part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) Student Scholarship Ambassador for the College of Engineering at Oregon State University (OSU).
College of Engineering’s (COE) Scholarships & Student Success is seeking a responsible and organized student to join our team part-time (typically 10-15 hours per week with a maximum of 24 hours per week, per policy). This position will support the mission and services of COE Scholarships & Student Success and is responsible for supporting the College of Engineering by being the front line for scholarship knowledge and administrative duties in the office.
Position Duties
50% – Undergraduate scholarship program support, including but not limited to:
• Knowledge of scholarship rules, policies and procedures
• Working knowledge of financial options and/or resources for students
• Creating and updating scholarship procedure tracking spreadsheets
• Designing promotional materials such as brochures, handbooks, fliers and newsletters.
• Creating social media posts – and managing COE Scholarships & Student Success’ social media accounts.
• Updating the Engineering Events App with relevant and updated information
• Presenting scholarship offerings and information in a classroom setting
• Occasionally working with COE Marketing & Communications staff to submit requests for website updates
• Assisting with scholarship administration, which could include sensitive qualitative student data review and resource gathering
20% – Support for CAFE (Center for Advancing Financial Education) extension office in COE
· Manage/troubleshoot scheduling
· Publicity and outreach
· Tracking and stocking snacks
20% – Other student program support duties as assigned by Director of Scholarships & Student Success and other program staff
10% – Other administrative duties, as assigned

  • Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study
  • Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment
  • Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard
    • High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program
    • Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term
    • Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term*
    • Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term
    • Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term*

*International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered “full-time” by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). A reduced course load is approved by the Office of International Services (OIS), and must be provided to the Student Employment Center.
Additional Required Qualifications
• Currently enrolled in an OSU undergraduate degree program
• Ability to relay and communicate in a professional, positive, and friendly manner

• Ability to work during the academic year and summer, minimum of 10 hours and maximum of 24 hours a week, during standard business hours

• Ability to represent the College of Engineering with maturity and professionalism
• Ability to work independently and/or collaboratively as a member of a team

• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a Criminal History Check and be determined to be position qualified as per OSU Standard 576-055-0000 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in Youth Programs may have additional Criminal History Checks every 2 years.
Preferred (Special) Qualifications
• Experience utilizing design software (i.e. Canva, Adobe Photoshop, etc.)
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, Microsoft Bookings and Microsoft Teams
• Experience with social media
• Previous experience with/knowledge of FERPA
• Prior experience with/knowledge of OSU and COE resources and services
• Experience with leadership and planning events
Working Conditions / Work Schedule
Potential for hybrid schedule, to include some remote work, when appropriate.
