About the Job
This person will act as a teaching assistant in the course NSC 5661 Systems Neuroscience. This job would be in addition to the normal employment and academic requirements of the student’s graduate program.
Employment in this position would not reduce the work required as part of the graduate program.
Job Responsibilities:
Lecture Attendance/Zoom and Recording Monitoring - Hours per Week 2.5
Weekly Review/Office Hours (Group) - Hours per Week 1
Discussion Paper Prep and/or Review - Hours per Week .5
Consultation with Lecturers on Worksheets/Quizzes/Exams - Hours per Week .5
Course Communication - Hours per Week .5
The effort dedicated to each of these is intended as an estimate and may vary depending on the
week but would not exceed the 5 hrs/wk
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
● Current PhD candidate (must have advanced to candidacy by passing preliminary exams)
● Good academic standing
● Must have taken NSC 5661 and received a grade of A- or better
● Must be in the Graduate Program in Neuroscience
● Must be organized, accurate, and detail-oriented
● Skilled at identifying gaps in understanding and tailoring explanations to bridge them effectively
● Good communication and presentation skills
● Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Powerpoint), Google Suite (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides) and Zoom
● Must be able to attend all in person classes MoWeFr 10:10AM - 11:00AM
Preferred Qualification:
● Experience using Canvas and Kaltura
● Independent, self-directed worker.

Pay and Benefits
Pay Range: $27.95
