Lecturer in Philosophy (Teaching & Scholarship)

The University of Liverpool seeks to appoint a part-time Lecturer (Teaching & Scholarship) in Philosophy. The appointee will provide teaching cover for Dr Laura Gow and Dr Robert McKenna while they undertake research for an AHRC-funded project on the role of cognitive experience in decision and action. This is a three-year fixed-term position.

The appointee will convene and teach primarily the following undergraduate modules: Philosophy Toolkit, Philosophical Insights, and The Politics of Knowledge. It should be noted that while the appointee will be expected to convene these modules, they will not be expected to cover all of the teaching for them. It is likely that some work as an academic adviser to undergraduate students studying Philosophy and as a placement coordinator will be included in the appointee¿s responsibilities.

The appointee may also be given some general administrative responsibilities, appropriate to the post.

This post is fixed term from 1 September 2025 until 31 August 2028. This post is part time (0.65 FTE).
