NISC (Next-generation Intelligent Sensing and Communication) systems can expand coverage with higher network efficiency, lower cost, and lower power consumption compared to the existing technologies. In FR2(mmWave) and FR3(7~24GHz) bands with strong line-of-sight, the NISC systems amalgamate a relay station (RS) and/or intelligent reflecting surfaces (IRS) with RF passive sensors informing the communication node's locations to RS/IRSs for their designed operations. To research and develop the NISC technologies and systems, three research teams, namely Intelligent Wireless Systems (IWS), Micro-Millimeter-Wave (MMW), and Advanced Radio Technology (ART) teams, tightly cooperate throughout the Global Basic Research Lab (GBRL) project funded by the Korea government (MSIT: Ministry of Science and ICT).  (Additional info: https://sites.google.com/view/wisys/gbrl)
