The Award was established in 2024 to honour the memory of Wednesday Davis, an exceptional marine scientist and beloved member of the University of Auckland community. Her legacy continues to inspire through this meaningful opportunity for emerging marine scientists.

The main purpose of the Award is to motivate and support a woman student undertaking masters study in marine science, reflecting Wednesday’s dedication to marine conservation. The basis of selection will be the applicant’s involvement in volunteering and community activities, and potential to contribute to marine conservation assessed by a personal statement.

Scholarship applications will usually open around six weeks before the closing date. Please read the regulations carefully to be sure you are eligible before you apply.
