This $5,000 Award was established to honour the memory of Wednesday Davis, an exceptional marine scientist and beloved member of the University of Auckland community. Her legacy continues to inspire through this meaningful opportunity for emerging marine scientists.
The main purpose of the Award is to motivate and support a woman student undertaking masters study in marine science, reflecting Wednesday’s dedication to marine conservation. The applicant’s involvement in volunteering and community activities, and potential to contribute to marine conservation will be central to the selection process.
The Prize recognises and honours Stephen Bradshaw (Ngāti Maru), alumnus of the Dance Studies programme, and Rangatira of Māori/Contemporary Dance and Toi Māori Arts in Aotearoa.
The main purpose of the Prize is to reward and recognise Māori students’ achievement in contemporary Māori dance within Ngā Akoranga Kanikani | Dance Studies at Waipapa Taumata Rau, University of Auckland.
