Post Summary

The Department of Civil, Structural & Environmental Engineering, Trinity College Dublin, invites applications for a PhD Researcher to join the geotechnical research group as part of a Sustainable Energy of Ireland funded research project “Ground Rigid Install Pile Anchor – GRIP Anchor”. The project is being led by Gavin and Doherty Geosolutions (GDG) with the aim of undertaking laboratory testing and numerical modelling of a novel type of non-grouted rock anchor for use with floating offshore wind turbines. The successful candidates will join a vibrant research group at Trinity College Dublin, working at the cutting edge of offshore wind energy research. The group is a multidisciplinary team with experience and expertise in the fields of geotechnical engineering, field and laboratory testing, grain-scale mechanics and numerical modelling.
