Job Description

CORC has its main hub at Aarhus University but includes satellites at several other Danish and international research institutions. Here, we seek a motivated and qualified PhD student to join CORC’s satellite at DTU. The successful candidate will become part of our international, interdisciplinary research team with daily workplace at DTU-Bioengineering, but frequent contact with our external collaborators. This is partly other CORC scientists, but also people from related projects at DTU-Bioengineering (https://biocat.ncsu.edu/) and researchers from the private sector. Overall, you will become part of a high-energy, supportive, and inclusive work environment with many opportunities for professional development and global networking.
Responsibilities and qualifications
We are seeking a PhD student with background and interest in enzymology, molecular biology, biophysical chemistry and/or enzyme technology. During the 3-year project, the PhD student will center on enzyme assisted carbon capture.
We are looking for candidates with excellent qualifications within some of the following areas and an interest to develop within others:
- Protein chemistry
- Enzyme kinetics and kinetic modelling
- Experimental physical chemistry
- Electrochemistry
- Assay development and instrument automation
- Thermodynamics of CO2 absorption and conversion
- Enzyme discovery
You must have a two-year master's degree (120 ECTS points) or a similar degree with an academic level equivalent to a two-year master's degree.
Approval and Enrolment
The scholarship for the PhD degree is subject to academic approval, and the candidate will be enrolled in one of the general degree programmes at DTU. For information about our enrolment requirements and the general planning of the PhD study programme, please see DTU's rules for the PhD education .

Salary and appointment terms
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed upon with the relevant union.
The period of employment is 3 years. The project should be started in November 2025 - or as soon as possible thereafter according to mutual agreement.
