Work Arrangements: Due to the nature of the work and operational requirements, this position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement (combination of working onsite and telework). Employees in this position who telework will be required to travel to the identified work site at least three times per week or a minimum of 60% of their regular work schedule at their own expense.

The Role

We are looking for a Security Screening Analyst to support our Security Branch. The Security Screening Analyst would be someone who shares our core values of Integrity, Excellence, Respect and Creativity.

 

The position is responsible for the coordination and administration of security screening requirements for the NRC in accordance with applicable government security policies.

 

The Security Screening Analyst will support NRC's adherence to the Policy on Government Security (PGS) and the Directive on Security Screening across all security screening domains.

 

Provides guidance to NRC employees, clients, the Human Resource Branch, and contractors on security screening requirements for all levels within NRC.

 

Provides expertise to Project Managers, procurement staff or other NRC clients on the security requirements for contracting goods or services including contract language and coordination with Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) on Industrial Security Program requirements through the lifespan of a contract. 


Screening Criteria

Applicants must demonstrate within the content of their application that they meet the following screening criteria in order to be given further consideration as candidates:


Education

Post-secondary Diploma/certificate in a relevant field, such as security, police foundations, law clerk, public safety, etc.

 

An equivalent combination of work-related experience, training, and education may also be considered.

Experience
  • Significant* experience advising on security screening Directive interpretation, best practices, and ensuring compliance with Government of Canada security screening standards.
  • Experience providing guidance, assistance and advice in the identification and assessment of security requirements for the completion of the Security Requirements Checklist (SRCL).
  • Experience analyzing screening applications including credit checks, criminal assessments, interview reviews, etc to determine the level of risk associated with approving screening for Reliability Status.
  • Experience conducting Resolution of Doubt interviews to address uncertainties in security screening eligibility.
  • Experience and proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.

 

Significant is defined as 2 to 6 years of experience.


Condition of Employment

Secret Clearance


A thorough security clearance process will be applied.

 

For a Secret Clearance, verification of background information over a period of 10 years is required. Individuals must have lived in Canada for a sufficient period of time to enable the security screening process.

Candidates will be assessed on the basis of the following criteria:


Technical Competencies
  • Significant* knowledge of Government of Canada security screening requirements.
  • Knowledge of the Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) Industrial Security Program.
  • Knowledge of the roles and responsibilities, as well as key contacts of other federal departments or central agencies involved in security services.
  • Knowledge of Government of Canada policies related to privacy.
  • Knowledge of and skill in using of electronic and computer systems used by Security Screening, such Equifax and digitizing fingerprints.

 

Significant is defined as 2 to 6 years of experience.

Compensation

From $72,436 to $85,298 per annum. 

 

In addition, the incumbent will receive the Bilingualism Bonus of $800 per year.
