This scholarship provides $7,500 for one year.

This scholarship provides $7,500 for one year.

To be eligible for this scholarship you must:

• be an Australian citizen, an Australian permanent resident or permanent humanitarian visa holder
• be commencing full-time study in semester 1 2023 in one of the following programs:
  • Bachelor of Criminal Justice (BP023)
  • Bachelor of Legal and Dispute Studies (BP204)
  • Bachelor of Criminology and Psychology (BP295)
• be able to demonstrate circumstance/s which impact your ability to study such as:
  • receiving a government tested low income benefit or having a Centrelink Health Care Card
  • living with a disability, long-term medical condition or identify as neurodiverse
  • experiencing personal/family/social difficulties
  • be from an interstate or rural/regional area and moving/moved to Melbourne to study at RMIT
  • have previously/are currently living in foster/kinship care or are a ward of the state
  • be from an under-represented background such as
    • Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander
    • were born overseas, are from a non-English background and recently migrated to Australia
    • current or former refugee
    • completed secondary school at a School Network Access Program  school
• have achieved an ATAR of 70 or above in your Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) in 2021 or 2022
• be able to demonstrate passion for studying in your chosen field and your future career

The Royal Commonwealth Society was formally created 6 February, 1921. Over the past 100 years our role has had several changes, today we promote the 17 Values of the Commonwealth of Nations, with our top four values being Literacy, Equality, Environment and Communities.

Our scholarship supporting RMIT students, and other Charitable organisations, soon to be followed by a Climate change initiative is our way of being active in these key areas.

Globally, with over 70 Branches in 56 Commonwealth Countries, supporting 2.5 billion people and over 25% being under 25, youth is very important in getting our message out there.
