Gerard Driesen Scholarship to Support Indigenous Students

This scholarship provides:

• up to $10,000 per year for up to the standard duration of program for Indigenous students
• up to $10,000 for one year for non-Indigenous students.

To be eligible for this scholarship you must:

• be an Australian citizen, an Australian permanent resident or an Australian permanent humanitarian visa holder
• be be enrolled full-time semester 1 and 2 in 2022 in a bachelor degree program at RMIT
• be able to demonstrate circumstance/s which impact your ability to study such as:
  • receiving a government tested low income benefit or having a Centrelink Health Care Card
  • living with a disability, long-term medical condition or identify as neurodiverse
  • experiencing personal/family/social difficulties
  • be from an interstate or rural/regional area and moving/moved to Melbourne to study at RMIT
  • have previously/are currently living in foster/kinship care or are a ward of the state
  • be from an under-represented background such as
    • Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander
    • were born overseas, are from a non-English background and recently migrated to Australia
    • current or former refugee
    • completed secondary school at a School Network Access Program school
• have at least one year of full-time study left to complete.

Preference will be given to Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students.

Preference will then be given to students in one of the following programs

• Bachelor of Arts (Fine Art) (BP201)
• Bachelor of Arts (Fine Arts) (Honours) (BH052)
• Bachelor of Arts (Photography) (BP117)
• Bachelor of Arts (Photography) (Honours) (BH125)
• Bachelor of Arts (Creative Writing) (BP257)
• Bachelor of Arts (Music Industry) (BP047)
• Bachelor of Arts (International Studies) (Honours) (BH049)
