About this scholarship
The Colin Mort Master of Architecture Scholarship (Scholarship ) has been developed to support future and current Master of Architecture students at Curtin University in need, with a focus on those either based in the WA regions or from the WA regions.
The Scholarship was established by Colin’s generous bequest to the Western Australian Chapter of the Royal Institute of Architects. This scholarship honours Colin’s memory and love for regional WA by supporting students who are in/from the WA regions as they pursue their Master of Architecture.
Colin Mort (1926-2016) was primarily a Bunbury based Architect in regional Western Australia. He was active in community service roles, serving as a Bunbury Town Councillor from January 1972 through to March 1974. Colin is described with great fondness as a lovely and gentle man with a wicked sense of humour, a sharp intelligence and an abundance of human kindness. During his career Colin was involved in the re-construction of Council Offices in 1964, commissioned to prepare plans for a new science block at Bunbury Senior High School in 1970 and involved in the extensions to the library at Bunbury High School in 1971.
