Position Summary	Position Overview: The Computer Science Department is seeking a motivated student employee to provide technical and user support for faculty, staff, and students. This position offers hands-on experience in a collaborative academic environment, ideal for those with a strong interest in Linux systems and interpersonal communication. Key Responsibilities: Assist faculty and students with Linux-related tasks, troubleshooting, and basic system navigation. Support setup and maintenance of lab environments and virtual machines. Respond to routine technical issues via email, in-person, and ticketing systems. Help maintain software installations, system updates, and user access. Collaborate with department IT personnel on system improvements and project work. Document processes and common technical solutions for departmental reference. Work Hours: 20 hours per week (flexible around class schedule) Location: On-site in the Computer Science Department Lab

Preferred Qualifications	Qualifications: Familiarity with Linux (Ubuntu or Debian preferred). Basic understanding of shell commands, system logs, and terminal navigation. Excellent customer service skills and willingness to assist users with varying technical backgrounds. Reliable, organized, and comfortable working independently or as part of a team. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Preferred Skills: Experience with remote access tools (SSH, SCP). Exposure to version control systems (e.g., Git). Interest in computer science, cybersecurity, or IT support.
