Job Description Summary | The search will remain open until the position has been filled. First consideration will be given to applications received by March 1, 2025. URI is just 30 minutes from Providence, RI and within easy reach of Newport, Boston, and New York City. _________________________________________________________________________________________________ BASIC FUNCTION: Perform independent research work and collaborate with research team. |
Duties and Responsibilities | ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Support School and Daycare Lead Sampling. Supervise student water samplers. Manage data reporting. Communicate with schools/daycares. Support PFAS Grant Activities. Network across university and partner organizations to determine locally relevant activities. Conduct an extensive literature review, documenting ongoing research of PFAS contamination, treatment, and community outreach/engagement activities. Coordinate and conduct water sampling efforts. Assist with outreach/engagement as needed. OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Meet regularly with the research team. Provide regular progress updates. Perform other duties as assigned. LICENSES, TOOLS, AND EQUIPMENT: Personal computers, printers, word processing, database management, and spreadsheet software. Excel. Required Qualifications | REQUIRED: 1. Master’s degree, OR Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of three to five years of research experience. 2. Demonstrated strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills. 3. Demonstrated proficiency in written communication skills. 4. Demonstrated strategic thinking, logistical, and organizational skills. 5. Demonstrated ability to work independently. 6. Demonstrated experience reviewing and summarizing scientific literature. 7. Demonstrated experience with data management (Excel/Google Sheets). 8. Demonstrated experience with drinking water contaminants. 9. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups/populations. |
