Under minimal supervision, this position is responsible for supporting the logistical and administrative functions of the Adam Smith Center for Economic Freedom at Florida International University (FIU). The Program Assistant exercises considerable discretion and independent judgment to interpret policy and procedures, answers complex questions, and provides accurate information regarding the Center's academic certificates, study groups, and programs. Serves as a key resource for prospective students, offering guidance and support throughout their inquiry process.
- Manages and facilitates specific activities, tasks, and assignments for the Center's programs. Provides accurate and detailed information to prospective students about the Center's academic certificates, study groups, and programs, guiding them through the application and enrollment process.
- Acts as a point of contact for prospective students, responding to inquiries and providing clear, accurate, and timely information.
- Assists in the preparation of presentation materials, ensuring clarity, design, and accuracy.
- Recommends, interprets, and analyzes information regarding program policies and procedures.
- Supports the Adam Smith Center team in various administrative tasks, including document preparation, scheduling, organizing, and maintaining confidential files.
- Assists the Research Scientist, Research Fellows, and Principal Investigators (PIs) with research initiatives for the Center. Builds and maintains relationships with university departments and external organizations to support program objectives.
- Supports the Center with student recruitment and enrollment efforts for the Bachelor and Master of Science in Business and Government Leadership programs.
- Supports the Civic Circle Fellowship, providing budget oversight, mentoring and guidance to fellows, supporting the fellowship's vision and goals, acting as a liaison with university administration, and addressing member issues or misconduct as needed.
- Assists in the planning, coordination, and execution of Center events, including seminars, conferences, and special ceremonies. Manages logistical arrangements for events, including venue reservations, catering, equipment setup, and guest coordination.
High school diploma or GED and five (5) years of office or related experience providing administrative support, or coordinating functions of an office or department.

$33,000 - $40,000- Begin time: 8:30 AM
