Position description
The 2035 Initiative at UCSB is a "think and do tank" aimed at confronting the climate crisis. We are seeking a Postdoctoral Scholar in the politics of Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation to support research on public responses to climate impacts and policies across the world. This postdoctoral position will focus on energy and climate public opinion research. The postdoctoral scholar will collaborate with UCSB faculty and their national and global partners on a range of ongoing survey research projects related to both climate change mitigation and adaptation. The scholar will also pursue independent research on climate and energy policy. The University is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through research, teaching, and service as appropriate to the position.

Qualifications
Basic qualifications (required at time of application)
Must have PhD in Political Science, Economics or a related Social Science OR be enrolled in a PhD program at the time of application
Additional qualifications (required at time of start)
Must have PhD in Political Science, Economics or a related Social Science by the start date of appointment.
Preferred qualifications
- Excellent analysis and writing skills
- Experience with quantitative social science research methods
- Familiarity with climate and/or energy policy and politics
