Dr. Vladi Karniychuk’s laboratory at The Ohio State University's Department of Veterinary Biosciences, is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated postdoctoral scholar to conduct research in virology.
The postdoctoral fellow will focus on the transmission and pathogenesis of African swine fever virus (ASFV). This project involves animal studies, cell culture, molecular biology, and virology techniques at Biosafety Level 2 and 3 laboratory containment.
The successful candidate will be expected to independently conduct research, assist the principal investigator, and contribute to mentoring and training activities in the lab. Strong writing, analytical, and communication skills are essential.
Applicants must demonstrate a proven ability to complete complex research projects during their Ph.D. and possess significant experience in standard laboratory methods.
The position requires the ability and willingness to obtain federal clearance for work with Select Agents and will be based at the OSU Wooster campus. Alternatively, frequent travel between the Columbus and Wooster campuses is expected.
The Department of Veterinary Biosciences operates in a team environment, providing access to experts at all levels, including internationally recognized specialists in virology and immunology.
