Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral research fellow to work on projects related to HIV prevention interventions operating within syringe services programs. The fellow will work on one or both of the following NIH-funded studies:

• Trauma Intervention to Optimize PrEP Among Women Who Inject Drugs (TIARAS) is a randomized controlled trial is to test the effectiveness of a trauma intervention designed to reduce HIV acquisition risk among women who inject drugs.
• A Systems Analysis and Improvement Approach for Optimizing HIV Service Delivery in Syringe Services Programs (SAIA-SSP-HIV) is a randomized controlled trial to assess the effectiveness of an evidence-based, organizational-level implementation strategy in improving HIV service delivery in U.S. syringe services programs.

The fellow will work with Dr. Alexis Roth, Associate Professor of Community Health and Prevention at Drexel University and have the opportunity for mentorship and collaboration with other faculty at Drexel and with collaborators across the United States.
The fellow will be primarily responsible for conducting analyses and authoring publications. Survey and qualitative research experience is required and experience with mixed-methods research and/or psychometrics is desirable. They will have the opportunity to lead publications and develop their own research ideas. The candidate will participate in professional development activities including research group management and grant writing and will have access to training opportunities across the School of Public Health.

Essential Functions

• Design and conduct data analyses
• Contribute to publishing scholarly papers and conference abstracts as lead or co-author
• Develop community-facing research products to share key findings
• Assist with supervision of graduate students
• Work with project manager to ensure data quality for ongoing studies.
• Assist with survey programming and qualitative or quantitative database management, as needed
• Assist with developing funding applications for future studies.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of a PhD or Doctorate in PhD or Doctorate in public health, psychology, social science.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience.
• Experience conducting quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-methods data analysis
• Proficiency in SAS and/or Stata
• Experience analyzing survey data
• Demonstrated expertise related to two or more of the following: women’s sexual health; substance use; intersectionality; mental health; HIV; measurement and psychometrics; community-based participatory research.
  
• Possess excellent oral, written, analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills
• Strong ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Experience applying anti-racist and equity, diversity, and inclusion frameworks to research processes.

Additional Information
This position is classified as Part Time Non-Exempt, grade K. Compensation for this grade ranges from $ 26.16to $39.24 per hour. Please note that the offered rate for this position typically aligns with the minimum to midrange of this grade, but it can vary based on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
