Are you passionate about cutting-edge research in nonlinear optical and scattering techniques? Join our team in the Chemistry Department as a part-time Postdoctoral Research Associate! In this role, you will support the development and implementation of nonlinear scattering setups and contribute to ongoing research on the role of interfaces in liquid-liquid phase separation and carbohydrate recognition. Ideal candidates will have a experience in colloidal nanomaterials, soft matter, and optical spectroscopy or microscopy techniques. You will also have the opportunity to collaborate closely with both graduate and undergraduate students, fostering a collaborative and innovative research environment. Opportunities to Contribute
Designs and performs experiments at soft matter interfaces using advanced nonlinear vibrational spectroscopy and scattering.
Builds and optimizes the nonlinear spectroscopy and scattering setup for multiple interfacial molecular structure measurements.
Actively collaborates with interdisciplinary teams on research and publications.
Works with graduate and undergraduate students in the lab towards solving problems related to interface characterization.
Qualifications
PhD in Chemistry, Physics or related field.
A well-qualified candidate will also possess
Knowledge of colloids, emulsions, nanomaterials.
Experience with optical setup construction as it pertains to required research.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Experience working with vibrational spectroscopy or micro spectroscopy techniques.
Expertise in laser systems, nonlinear optics, and optical setup construction.
Hourly Rate: $25.97 per hour
Schedule: This part time position may require work during the night and on weekends.
Special Note: This position is funded from grant and/or contract funding, which is renewed through provisions of the grantor of the contract. Therefore, this position is contingent upon continuation of funding from these grants and/or contracts, as well as satisfactory job performance.
