Position Highlights | The McNew Lab at the University of Arizona seeks a Postdoctoral Research Associate to conduct research on adaptations of birds to emerging disease. The Postdoctoral Research Associate will work under the supervision of Dr. Sabrina McNew in the department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology The postdoctoral researcher will play a key role in advancing research on avian host–parasite interactions through a combination of fieldwork, data analysis, and team leadership. Primary responsibilities include:
1. Field Research: Design, coordinate, and conduct field studies focusing on birds and their parasites in the Galapagos Islands. Ensure data quality and ethical standards are maintained during field activities and collaborate with an international team.
The successful candidate will have a PhD in Biology or a related field and will be capable of leading an innovative research program, working collaboratively with an international team, and communicating effectively to academic and non-academic audiences. The researcher will additionally have opportunities to develop new and independent research avenues, build skills for academic and non-academic career paths, and receive mentorship in a positive and community-oriented environment.
