Postdoctoral position in epigenetics of stem cells and development in New York City, USA

Updated: 7 days ago
Location: New York City, NEW YORK
Job Type: FullTime

The Dawlaty Laboratory at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York city is recruiting postdoctoral fellows with interest in epigenetics of stem cells and development. We are seeking applicants who wish to pursue research specifically in the following areas: (1) Embryonic stem cell biology. (2) Chromatin and gene regulation. (3) Mouse development. Specifically we are interested in applicants with strong interest in developmental epigenetics and expertise and interest in mouse developmental biology and epigenetics of gene regulation.

Research focus: Our lab investigates the epigenetic mechanisms underpinning the biology of embryonic stem cells and development. We study how DNA modifying enzymes regulate stem cell biology and lineage specification during development We use stem cells and mice as model systems and combine molecular, cellular, developmental and bioinformatics approaches to establish how chromatin regulators reshape the epigenome and regulate cell fate during development. We also seek to understand how perturbations of these mechanisms contribute to etiology of human diseases such as cancer and neurodegenerative diseases.

Lab expertise: The lab specializes in genome engineering methodologies in mouse and human embryonic stem cells and iPSCs and generating complex strains of mice and stem cell lines to dissect epigenetic pathways/mechanisms and define their implications in development and disease.
