Position Summary:


Rutgers School of Health Professions (SHP) is seeking a Postdoctoral Associate to work in their Health Informatics department.
The primary responsibility of the Postdoctoral Associate is to conduct and coordinate population research that examines health-related behaviors, beliefs, and policies aimed at mitigating cancer risk. Working under the direct supervision and mentorship of Principal Investigator Dr. Zhaomeng Niu, the Postdoctoral Associate will be deeply involved in NIH-funded projects related to cancer prevention, digital mHealth and eHealth interventions, and addressing health disparities. This position provides valuable opportunities for professional development, including mentored training in quantitative and qualitative data analysis, manuscript preparation, and grant writing. The Postdoctoral Associate will also assist in preparing, cleaning, and analyzing data, as well as preparing manuscripts, reports, and presentations based on their research findings.
This position not only offers a chance to contribute to impactful research but also provides a platform for professional growth through opportunities to lead author papers and conduct grant-funded research. Additionally, the Postdoctoral Associate will give oral presentations on research findings and work closely with the principal investigator and study team on various research initiatives. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:
  • Assist with protocol initiation and development, alongside PI and study team.
  • Assist the principal investigator and study staff on ongoing NIH-funded research projects.
  • Assist with data collection, data clean, data analysis, and data interpretation.
  • Assist with presentation and manuscripts preparation.
  • Prepare grant proposals based on conducted research and findings.
  • Understand and adhere to Rutgers' compliance standards as they appear in RBHS's Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Education and Experience:

  • Doctoral degree in public health, health communication, computer science, informatics, or a related field required.
  • Qualified candidates must be in the process of completing or have completed the training and requirements for a Ph.D.
  • Candidates must provide proof that all Ph.D. degree requirements have been fulfilled before their employment start date.
  • Research experience and/or strong publication record in behavioral, epidemiological, health services, and/or health-related AI/CHI research is required.
