Job Title:  Postdoctoral Associate

Division:  Integrative Physiology
Work Arrangement:  Onsite only
Location:  Houston, TX
Salary Range:  Hiring up to $68,000
FLSA Status:  Exempt
Work Schedule:  Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.


Summary

The applicant must have a Ph.D. in Physics, Optics, Bioengineering, or related field. Extensive expertise in optical imaging, light propagation modeling, and image analysis are required. Expertize with house built optical coherence tomography is desired. The relevant research experience should be supported by strong publication record. The candidate should have strong communication and writing skills and will be expected to mentor trainees in the lab, plan and perform experiments, prepare research articles and explore new projects within the scope of reproductive and developmental biology research.


Job Duties
  • Plans and performs research experiments.
  • Maintains current research compliance training and be a strong example for compliant laboratory work.
  • Prepares manuscripts and other scientific communications.
  • Supervises lab personnel as assigned.
  • Submits fellowship grants to extramural agencies to obtain independent funding.
  • Conducts optical system design, intravital imaging, image analysis.

Minimum Qualifications
  • MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
  • No experience required.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Extensive expertise in optical imaging and image analysis are required. The relevant research experience should be supported by strong publication record.
