The Advanced Photon Source (APS) at Argonne National Laboratory invites applications for a postdoctoral position focused on developing novel computational approaches for multi-modal biomedical image analysis. This position will support a project investigating low-dose radiation effects on tissue vascularization through advanced imaging techniques.
The postdoctoral appointee will be responsible for developing new computational tools and AI/ML approaches to analyze and correlate data from multiple imaging modalities, including synchrotron tomography, x-ray fluorescence microscopy, visible light microscopy, and spatial transcriptomics. Key responsibilities include:
Developing AI/ML methods for image alignment across modalities
Automated feature detection
Predictive modeling of vascularization patterns
The successful candidate will be part of a multi-institutional, cross-disciplinary team including researchers from multiple groups at the APS and at Northwestern University. They will have access to state-of-the-art imaging facilities at the APS and top-20 supercomputing resources at Argonne National Laboratory.
