The Department of Plant Pathology at The Ohio State University is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate to join our team to work on projects related to virus transmission through seed. This position is located in on the College of Food, Agricultural and Environmental Sciences Wooster Campus.
Responsibilities:
• 40%: Design, conduct, and evaluate research experiments
• 10%: Develop, adopt, and implement new laboratory methods
• 30%: Process, analyze, and interpret experimental data and prepare results for publication
• 10%: Participate in preparation of manuscripts for publication
• 10%: Mentor and work alongside technicians on similar projects; perform other duties as required
Qualifications:
• PhD in plant virology, plant pathology or related field by time of hire
• Strong theoretical or practical background in plant virology
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Collaborative mentality towards research and mentoring
Desired Skills:
• Research experience working with plant viruses
• Record of peer-reviewed publications demonstrating the required and desired skills
