The Department of Evolution, Ecology, and Organismal Biology within the College of Arts and Sciences, seeks a Post Doctoral Scholar to perform independent research in systematic biology. Skills required include bioinformatics, genomics, data science, artificial intelligence, mCT scanning, knowledge of bat biology, and multivariate statistics. Post Doctoral Scholars are expected to lead analyses critical to the species delimitation research program and to take initiative in contributing to the design of investigations into little brown bats and other species.  Duties will include taking and analyzing data, presenting results at conferences/workshops, writing manuscripts to publish results in peer-reviewed journals, contributing to the Carstens lab research program, assisting with extramural funding proposals, mentoring students and supporting group activities through collaborative service work.

Required Qualifications:

Doctoral Degree in Evolutionary Biology or related field with specialization in computational biology and statistics or related areas is required.  Demonstrated experience in 3D morphometric analysis is required.

Desired:

Research interest in bat biology is desired.  Strong software skills designing custom neural network and other AI methods is desired.
