Position Description


Advertised Job Summary
The postdoctoral researcher will play a critical role in the design, development, and application of an in situ device for measuring the short-lived radionuclide, 234Th, in seawater. The postdoctoral researcher will take the lead in field testing the integrated sample design. This role further offers the opportunity for the postdoctoral fellow to participate in additional research opportunities related to submarine groundwater discharge and the biogeochemical cycling of dissolved and particulate nutrients and carbon in coastal systems.
Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience
Requires a Doctoral (Ph.D.) degree in area of research specialty.
Required Certification, Licensure/Other Credentials
Preferred Qualifications
A Ph.D. in geoscience or a related field. Experience in measuring standard biogeochemical indices, such as nutrients, carbon, and dissolved oxygen.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Experience in measuring naturally occurring radionuclides, technique development, and fieldwork.
