Position Summary/Description:


We are seeking a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Psychology and Neuroscience at UNC Chapel Hill. We specifically are looking for PhD-level researchers with excellent study management and analytic skills who are interested in the role of peers, social media, and the developing brain. We collect data using diverse methods, including longitudinal fMRI and fNIRS, experimental social interaction tasks, ecological momentary assessments, and self-report measures of health behaviors (substance use, health risk behaviors, internalizing and externalizing disorders) and character development (e.g., prosocial behaviors, self-control, generosity). The ideal applicant will have substantive interest in the role of peers, media, and the brain on development, a strong publication record, and experience with social or developmental neuroscience methods. The applicant must have a PhD in Psychology (Developmental, Clinical, or Social Psychology, for instance), Neuroscience, or related field by the time the position begins. The position also includes opportunities for professional development and unique interdisciplinary training that will be useful for a variety of academic career paths. The applicant will work closely within the Winston Center under the mentorship of Drs. Eva Telzer and Kaitlyn Burnell, with opportunities to work with other faculty in the Center and across the Psychology and Neuroscience Department.

Education and Experience:


Experience with developmental and/or neuroimaging research methods, proficiency in statistical analyses, and a strong publication record.
