Position Overview

This is a Lecturer opening which is a non-tenure-track member of the faculty whose primary role is instructional with no obligations to perform research or service.  This position is with Pharmacology & Toxicology Department and will be in-person on the Lawrence, Kansas campus.


Job Description

40% Delivering education content to enhance learning outcomes of students.
30% Designing relevant course materials, lesson plans and curriculum.
20% Providing academic advising, mentoring students, and answering their questions on course materials.
10% Assessing student progress through assignments, quizzes, and examinations.


Required Qualifications

  • PharmD or PhD in Pharmacology & Toxicology or a closely related field.
  • Knowledge on Vitamins, Membrane Transport, Nervous System Introduction, and Autonomic Nervous System and how these concepts relate to drug treatments.
  • Experience teaching professional students, especially pharmacists
  • This position requires a formal degree in the cited discipline area(s) to ensure that candidates have the foundational knowledge and skill set required to perform the duties of the position.  The level of degree is based on accreditation requirements, institutional standards of academic and professional excellence, alignment with peer institution benchmarks, and contributes to the credibility and effectiveness of the role within the university community.

    Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Canvas
  • Research experience in drug development and treatment.
