Job Description:
The Department of Film and Media Arts within the College of Visual and Performing Arts seeks a Part-Time Instructor to teach FMA 153 Making Media: Fundamentals, a three credit hour course, during the Fall semester, 2025. There are two open sections.
This class is a studio course in Film and Media Arts. Students are introduced to thinking critically and practically about time-based creative practices. Exploring the use of digital media in concepts surrounding time/space, image/sound, interactivity/networks, and performance/movement. Students will work with photo, film, video, and computer art.

Qualifications:
- MFA in related discipline.
Job Specific Qualifications:
- Expert in the Adobe Creative Suite.
- Broad knowledge of current trends in media arts is essential.
Responsibilities:
- Developing and/or updating a class syllabus.
- Preparation of lectures, projects or other student assignments.
- Maintaining regularly scheduled office hours.
- Presenting instruction based on the competencies and performance levels of the course.
- Meeting all designated class periods.
- Submitting completed mid-semester progress reports and final grades according to University regulations.
- Grading student assignments and exams in timely manner.
- Providing departmentally sanctioned forms for completed student evaluations.
- Building a positive rapport with students and other faculty.
