The School of Marine and Atmospheric Sciences (SoMAS) at Stony Brook University invites applications for two (2) part-time adjunct faculty positions to teach SUS 203 (Interpretation and Critical Analysis) and SUS 204 (Population Studies) for the Fall 2025 semester. Candidates in the areas of biology, zoology, or population dynamics and / or communications, humanities or journalism are especially encouraged to apply.

The successful candidates will have a strong commitment to teaching, and will teach classes at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels, as well as mentor students. 

Required Qualifications:
Masters degree (foreign equivalent or higher) in Biology or related field OR Masters degree (foreign equivalent or higher) in Humanities, Communications, Journalism or related field.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience teaching undergraduate courses in biology or related field OR communications and writing. Experience in course and curriculum development. Experience mentoring undergraduate and/or graduate students. Expertise in animal behavior OR writing and the environment.
