Job Summary
The Practical Training Coordinator will evaluate and process F-1 student requests for curricular practical training (CPT), optional practical training (OPT) and STEM optional practical training (STEM OPT); present workshops and facilitate group chats for students on the immigration regulations, procedures and processes for practical training applications.
Minimum Education and Experience
Associate Degree or High School diploma and 2 years’ experience working with college students or adolescents or community groups in an advisory, administrative or educational capacity.
Must be a U.S Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident to meet USCIS eligibility requirements.

To the extent this position requires the holder to research, work on, or have access to critical infrastructure as defined in Section 117.001(2) of the Texas Business and Commerce Code, the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the critical infrastructure is a minimum qualification to be hired and to continue to be employed in the position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Evaluate students’ eligibility for CPT, OPT and STEM OPT by reviewing submitted documentation from students, departments (if applicable) and academic and immigration information from various data sources.
  • Present workshops and facilitate group chats
  • Stay current on relevant immigration policies and procedures
  • Attend training functions pertaining to practical training
  • Collaboration and professional development
  • Other duties as assigned

Remote Work Notice:
After the probationary period, this role may be eligible for a hybrid (partly remote/partly in-office) work schedule, subject to business need and manager approval. May be required to use a personal computer and other standard office equipment. Must be located within the DFW Area and have the ability to be on campus with 24 hours of notice. A UT Dallas Remote Work Agreement will be required within 14 days after approval.
