Intern-Master's Level Social Work/Therapy

Ivy Tech Community College is seeking a dedicated and compassionate master’s level Social Work or Therapy Intern to join our Counseling Services team. This is a paid internship opportunity for graduate students looking to gain hands-on clinical experience in a supportive college environment. Interns will work directly with a diverse student population and receive supervision from licensed mental health and/or social work professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in providing short-term, individual therapy sessions to students under supervision
  • Co-facilitate and lead psychoeducational groups on topics such as stress management, anxiety, academic motivation, and emotional regulation
  • Conduct biopsychosocial assessments to inform treatment planning
  • Maintain accurate and confidential client documentation in compliance with ethical and legal standards
  • Collaborate with campus partners and refer students to appropriate resources
  • Participate in weekly individual and group supervision sessions

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a master’s program in Social Work, Counseling, or a related field
  • Eligible for internship placement through your academic institution
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • Experience with or interest in working with college students preferred

Schedule:
Flexible scheduling is available, including daytime, evening, and limited weekend hours. Interns must be available for at least 10–15 hours per week. Session times can be coordinated to accommodate both intern availability and student client needs, including outside of typical school business hours.
