Culinary Education Coordinator (Part-Time) (Multiple Positions)

This 4-H Program Coordinator position will be part of a dynamic team of professionals developing and delivering STEM education and community outreach programs at Tucson Village Farm through the Pima County Cooperative Extension.

The person in this position must be able to work independently and under guidance from the county agent to oversee the coordination of Tucson Village Farm Culinary Programming, Outreach Educational Markets, and Special Events.

Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings, for events or markets.

Farm-to-Table & Value-Added Initiatives 

• Design and prepare seasonal menus for events, camps, and workshops using farm-grown produce.
• Coordinate the production of value-added goods (e.g., jams, sauces, spice mixes) in alignment with food safety regulations.
• Maintain cleanliness, safety, and organization of the farm’s teaching kitchen and culinary equipment.

Markets & Food Access

• Manage the farm’s produce stand, community markets, and pop-up events.
• Oversee marketing, pricing, and presentation of farm products and value-added goods.
• Collaborate with the farm team to ensure efficient harvest and product availability for market days.
• Promote equitable access to fresh, local food through partnerships and outreach to underserved communities.

Community Engagement & Partnerships 

• Serve as a representative of Tucson Village Farm at public events, food demos, and educational workshops.
• Build and maintain relationships with local chefs, nutritionists, schools, and community organizations to enhance program offerings.
• Support outreach and promotion of culinary programs through newsletters, social media, and farm communications.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) 

• Passion for food education, youth empowerment, and sustainable food systems.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through experience required.
• 1 year of relevant work experience is required.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to drive according to the University Fleet Safety Policy .

• Relevant experience in culinary arts, nutrition, public health, or education.
• Experience cooking with whole, seasonal ingredients in a teaching or community-based setting.
• Food Handler’s Certification (or willingness to obtain); ServSafe Manager Certification a plus.
