Position Summary:

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Clinical Services Representative I within the Endodontics Department at the Rutgers School of Dental Medicine (RSDM).
Under general supervision, the Clinical Services Representative I conducts a variety of front desk services. The Clinical Services Representative I will also serve as a receptionist, maintain appointment booking, request charts, and enter updates. Additionally, the Clinical Services Representative I role will verify patient demographics and insurance information.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:

• Documents the patients arriving for treatment at Rutgers School of Dental Medicine. Inputs all biographical information and verifies patient identification in accordance with RSDM policies. Evaluates patient data to confirm that the information is up to date.
• Obtains copies of patients' Medicaid, Medicaid HMO, or dental insurance card, and verify and update the information as necessary.
• Verifies that the required insurance copayment or deductible is obtained prior to the patient being treated by residents.
• Accountable for the posting of patient payments. Ensures accurate documentation of these payments. Generates computer receipts for patients upon request.
• Provides excellent customer service in response to patient inquiries and directs them to the relevant financial coordinator.

Minimum Education and Experience:

• Three (3) years of progressively responsible clerical experience required of which one (1) year must have been in a business setting involving billing and collection or medical insurance activities.
