The Clinical Research Management Office of the Marlene and Stewart Greenebaum Comprehensive Cancer Center (UMGCCC) is recruiting for a full-time Clinical Research Manager. The Clinical Research Manager will be responsible managing research program operations and providing administrative and technical support such as screening, consenting, and enrolling patients as well as subsequently guiding them through procedures and visits required by the research protocol. The Clinical Research Manager is also responsible for data collection and entry, resolving standard of care issues, and direct research support. The Clinical Research Manager will interface directly with the Principal investigator(s) on the protocols within their assigned portfolio as well as the medical care team, ancillary hospital staff, Sponsor representatives, and data managers within UMGCCC.

Following an extensive training program at the Marlene and Stewart Greenebaum Comprehensive Cancer Center in Baltimore, MD, the Clinical Research Manager will be permanently assigned to The Cancer Program at University of Maryland Shore Regional Health in Easton, Maryland. At The Cancer Program at University of Maryland Shore Regional Health in Easton, Maryland, the selected candidate will be responsible for a portfolio of novel, cutting-edge Solid Tumor and Hematological Oncology as well as other novel therapeutic trials. This individual will be the primary interface, along with the treating physician for cancer patients enrolled in the studies.

Primary Duties:

  • Manage clinical research staff including training, scheduling, coordinating and delegating work, monitoring and evaluating performance to promote maximum staff member benefit and effectiveness as well as overall functional productivity.
  • Develop and manage the development and execution of program research studies. Revise studies, in consultation with upper management or principal investigator, to meet changing needs and requirements and enforces standards.
  • Manage clinical research operations including the budget, ensuring quality control and safety compliance, developing policies and procedures, and ordering supplies. Identify and address issues and deficiencies and implements effective solutions.
  • Assemble and prepare literature research, editing and preparing manuscripts, scientific illustrations and computer graphics for publication.
  • Provide for establishment or development of facility by evaluating equipment or machinery to be ordered, planning interactions with IT systems, and drafting Standard Operating Procedures for using new equipment.
  • Foster and support a consultant/client environment, providing business unit and campus representatives with assessment, training, and advisement in research area.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
 

Qualifications

  

Education: Bachelor's degree in scientific field of study related to the research of the clinical setting.
Experience: Six (6) years of experience in clinical research including four (4) years in the relevant research specialization.
Supervisory Experience: Two (2) years of direct supervision or responsibility for training, work coordination, and monitoring the work of others.
Other: Except for qualifications established by law, additional related experience and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of the work of the job class may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 undergraduate college credits being equivalent to one year of related experience. In instances where specific education and/or experience is required only directly related education and/or experience may be substituted.

Hiring Range: $91,000 - $107,000, commensurate with education and experience.
