Position Summary:

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Central Sterile Tech. II within the Rutgers School of Dental Medicine, Clinical Affairs department.
Under supervision the Central Sterile Tech. II will perform work related to the care, sterilization, packing, and disbursement of equipment and supplies. Additionally, the Central Sterile Tech. II will maintain all aspects of sterilization procedures related to dental instruments and supplies associated with patient care within the various clinical operators.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:

• Operates and monitors steam autoclaves, sonic washers and other sterilizing equipment. Keeps records of loads completed, items in loads, and maintenance procedures performed.
• Decontaminates and sterilizes instruments, equipment, and assembles wraps and sterilizes cassettes, trays and instruments. Follows proper standard precautions while in decontamination and sterilization areas.
• Monitors biological and chemical wash solutions to ensure quality and consistency for decontamination of instruments and equipment.
• Maintains necessary supply levels in sterile storage areas.
• Examines equipment to detect leak, worn or loose parts, or other indications of disrepair.

Minimum Education and Experience:

• One (1) of experience in a health care, medical or dental setting or a closely related setting using sterile procedures.
• New Jersey Central Service Certification is required for this position.
