Job Summary:

The University of Wisconsin-Madison seeks to hire a tenure-track or tenured faculty member with research and teaching interests in conservative political thought, classical economic theory, classical liberalism, or free markets. Candidates should have a record of excellence in scholarship, teaching, and service.
The tenure home will be within a department in the College of Letters and Sciences (e.g., Political Science, Economics, La Follette School of Public Affairs) at UW-Madison that is most appropriate to the candidate's work.
The successful candidate will advance the educational mission of the College of Letters & Science, that values, prioritizes, and actualizes evidence-based and student-centered teaching and (undergraduate student) mentoring. They will contribute to an environment that fosters engagement and a sense of belonging for faculty, staff, students and members of the broader community.

The successful candidate will demonstrate experience with fostering or the ability to foster an inclusive and student-centered teaching, learning, departmental, and research environment where all can thrive.


Responsibilities:

Research, write, and publish outstanding scholarship and teach courses in one or more of the following areas: conservative political thought, classical economic theory, classical liberalism, or free markets. Teach both undergraduate and graduate students, and engage in service to the university, college, department, and broader professional discipline. The successful candidate, as a member of the College of L&S, will proactively contribute to, support, and advance the college's commitment to excellence among all aspects of their teaching, mentoring, research, and service.

Qualifications:

Applicants should demonstrate excellence and productivity in research and a commitment to teaching. Appointment at the tenured level requires evidence of excellence in scholarly research, teaching and service and requires review by the Social Sciences Tenure Committee at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
