Job Description:

The Department of Neurosurgery is seeking a Postdoctoral Associate for a position within the Preston A. Wells, Jr. Center for Brain Tumor Immunotherapy. The Postdoc will be responsible for carrying out experiments that are critical to the mission of the lab and its grant-funded research.

In addition to carrying out experimental work, the Post Doc Associate will be responsible for:

  • Design and execute experiments focused on tumor immunology, utilizing techniques such as flow cytometry, cell culture, immunohistochemistry (IHC), and animal models.
  • Analyze and interpret complex immunological and molecular data derived from preclinical studies.
  • Collaborate with academic and clinical investigators, including providing research support for IND-enabling studies.
  • Contribute to the preparation of scientific publications, presentations, and grant applications.
  • Present experimental findings at internal meetings, external scientific conferences, or collaborations.
Expected Salary:

$56,000-$60,000 

Required Qualifications:

MD, PhD or MD/PhD

Preferred:
  • Ph.D. in Immunology, Cancer Biology, or a related field
  • Strong background in cancer immunology, immune cell biology, or tumor microenvironment research.
  • Experience with mouse tumor models, flow cytometry, and immunological assays.
  • Excellent communication and scientific writing skills.
  • A self-motivated, collaborative mindset with critical thinking ability.

  • Prior experience with CAR T cells, checkpoint blockade, or other immune-based therapies.

  • Familiarity with RNA-seq or other omics data.

  • Publication record in peer-reviewed journals.
