The School of Accounting and Finance is the longest established accounting school in Hong Kong with over 80 full-time academic and teaching staff in the areas of accounting, finance, economics, and law.

The School has adequate resources to support a variety of research interests and activities, and has comparative advantages in promoting cross-disciplinary research that is needed in the modern business world. The School has maintained an excellent network with overseas and Mainland China institutions for collaborative work.

Duties

The appointees will be required to:

(a)    conduct research as the main duty and actively pursue external research grants, such as General Research Fund, as Principal Investigator or Co-Investigator;

(b)    provide quality teaching at undergraduate or postgraduate level, with a focus on AI and its applications in accounting and finance;

(c)    supervise student projects;

(d)    contribute to departmental service; and

(e)    perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of the School or her delegates.

Qualifications  

Applicants should:

(a)    have a PhD degree in a related discipline, especially in the area of AI applications in accounting and finance;

(b)    preferably have at least two years of postdoctoral research experience;

(c)    have demonstrated promise of a high level of creative ability in research and teaching in some subdivisions of his/her field;

(d)    be able to demonstrate effective classroom teaching skills; and

(e)    be highly proficient in written and spoken English.

Conditions of Service 

A highly competitive package including a medical benefits plan and a gratuity payable upon completion of the term which is normally for two to three years initially, with possibility of extension.
