Applications are invited for an exceptional Postdoctoral Scientist to the join the group of
Prof. Claus Nerlovto study blood cell development, with particular emphasis on mechanisms of HSC ageing and how clonal hematopoiesis (CH) affects the normal physiological ageing process.
You will work within a team that comprises of the
Nerlov lab, working alongside other groups within the Molecular Haematology Unit. You will use state-of-the-art genetic tools and functional genomics to generate and characterize models of CH and ageing, including the role of the bone marrow microenvironment in these processes, with the aim of understanding how ageing promotes CH progression.
You will hold a PhD within the area of molecular biology or have thesis submitted at time of application, and will have experience with mouse genetics, molecular biology (including functional genomics) and bioinformatics (including UNIX, R and Python for single cell analysis). You will be highly motivated, current with the literature within the field, and able to work independently as well as within a team. You will be able to communicate your work both internally and externally, manage collaborations with other laboratories in a professional and collegiate manner, and contribute to the writing of grants and manuscripts.
The post is available fixed-term until 31 March 2027, funded by the Medical Research Council.
