We are seeking a postdoctoral research associate to work on a joint project between the UK, the Philippines, Malaysia and Indonesia investigating anthelminthic resistance in soil-transmitted helminths, particularly hookworms. This project will measure anthelminthic resistance and then genome sequence worms to investigate the genetics of anthelminthic resistance. This role will be focussed on the genome sequence analyses and you will develop bioinformatics pipelines for sequence analyses, lead the bioinformatic analyses with colleagues in Southeast Asia, and provide training and support to bioinformaticians in Southeast Asia. In this full-time role you will be proactive in leading and building bioinformatics capacity for a diverse team of researchers but also be able to work effectively independently.

Although the university has a hybrid working system, the expectation is that the applicant appointed to this role will work more than 50% on campus.

Preferred start date is from June 2025 the post is available until April 2028.

You should have a PhD or equivalent research degree in the Biological or Life Sciences.

This role is eligible for sponsorship under the skilled worker route.
