In this position, you will be given the opportunity to contribute to world-leading research on quantum technology. You will interact with researchers designing and fabricating advances quantum devices where you will provide a key tool for efficient workflow.
Information about the division and the project
The Quantum Technology division focuses on experimental research in superconducting quantum systems. Our work spans the full development cycle, from quantum device design and nanofabrication to low-temperature characterization and quantum measurements.
You will join the Quantum Computing Group within the Quantum Technology Laboratory (QTL) at the Department of Microtechnology and Nanoscience (MC2) . The group is part of the Wallenberg Centre for Quantum Technology (WACQT) , a 12-year initiative aimed at building a high-performance quantum computer based on superconducting circuits.
Our team includes a dynamic mix of PhD students, postdocs, and senior researchers working collaboratively on Sweden’s most ambitious research effort in quantum technology. You will be part of a stimulating and interdisciplinary environment with close ties between software, hardware, and fabrication development.
Job description
As an amanuensis in our research group, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining a Process Design Kit (PDK) tailored to our layout editor of choice, KLayout. Your work will play a central role in streamlining and standardizing the design flow for quantum device fabrication. This includes implementing and improving design rule checks (DRC), optimizing and debugging code, and contributing to the creation of modular and reusable design blocks.
You will collaborate closely with researchers and engineers across the full development cycle—from design to fabrication—ensuring that the tools and processes you develop align with the needs of ongoing experimental work. The position offers a unique opportunity to contribute directly to the development of cutting-edge quantum hardware, with the potential for your work to make a lasting impact on the tools used throughout our quantum computing efforts.
Contract terms
This is a temporary part-time 20% employment for 6 months with the possibility for extension.
Qualifications
To be eligible for this position, you should have a BSc in computer engineering, electrical engineering or engineering physics.
