Job Type: FullTime

Founded in 1914, Jiaxing University is a prestigious provincial institution of higher education with a rich history and profound cultural heritage. Jiaxing, the site of the university, is located on the southeast coast of China and in the heartland of the Yangtze River Delta.

The College of Medicine of Jiaxing University is a key training base for medical professionals in northern Zhejiang. It features a Medical Experimental Center spanning 14,626 square meters and houses primary research and teaching instruments valued at 104 million yuan.

The Neurobiology Research Team is a vital scientific research team within the college of medicine. It is currently conducting in vivo fluorescence imaging studies of neurons, astrocytes, microglia, and NG2 lineage cells in the mouse brain, aiming to understand normal brain function, aging, and neurodegeneration. Currently, the team offers two research positions.

Position Requirements:

1. A Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Neurobiology, Biology, Basic Medicine, Computer Science, or a related field is required, along with image analysis skills (biological or medical image analysis preferred), including denoising, segmentation, and detection of specific patterns. The ideal candidate should possess a knowledge of both time-series and frequency-domain analysis, as well as proficiency in Python or Matlab. Responsibilities include detecting cells and cellular organelles in image sequences, conducting comprehensive cell morphology analysis, and analyzing cellular activity patterns (e.g., calcium, peroxide, and lactate changes) related to cell morphology.

2. A Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Neurobiology, Biology, Basic Medicine, Physics or a related field is required, along with optical bioimaging skills. Solid knowledge of optics and fluorescence imaging is essential. The ideal candidate should be familiar with two-photon and three-photon imaging, FLIM (Fluorescence Lifetime Imaging Microscopy), and Raman microspectroscopy (including SRS, CARS). Job responsibilities include collaborating with biologists in the laboratory to develop existing and new imaging methods, etc.

Both positions offer a competitive salary commensurate with the applicant's experience, and benefits can be negotiated individually.

Application Method:

Interested candidates should submit their CV and a cover letter explaining their motivations for applying to the position to Prof. Alexey Semyanov at semyanov@zjxu.edu.cn.

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
