Applications are sought for a committed Post-doctoral Research Fellow to work with Dr Ilary Allodi conducting research for an MRC (UKRI) funded project entitled “Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis: treating the circuit behind the disease”. We are looking for an independent and highly motivated candidate interested in neurodegenerative diseases. The position is open to candidates with PhD degree and previous postdoctoral experience and offers the opportunity to work in an excellent team engaged in mouse models of disease, behavioural analysis, investigations of ALS human post-mortem tissue, spatial transcriptomics, and gene therapy.

The successful applicant will have completed a PhD in Neuroscience with expertise in molecular biology and handling mouse models of neurodegenerative disorders. Most importantly, the applicant should be highly committed to the project. In all cases, the ability to perform the tasks will be the primary consideration, thus we encourage applicants to apply regardless of personal background.  

The post is available for 18.5 months (with possible extension to 20 months) starting on the 1 September 2025 or as soon as possible thereafter.
