The International Centre of Martial Arts for Youth Development and Engagement under the auspices of UNESCO (ICM)

is pleased to invite your esteemed institution and researchers (or practitioners) to engage with our 2025 research project : 


World Martial Arts In-depth Research: Pacific-Oceanic Martial Arts



We are currently seeking research abstract and plan submissions focused on Pacific-Oceanic martial arts and their cultural significance.


● Deadline: Tuesday, April 30, 2025, 23:59 KST


● Honorarium: KRW 4,000,000 (approx. USD 2,700)


● We welcome innovative and insightful proposals to deepen the understanding of Pacific-Oceanic martial arts.


● Submission Items:

   - Research Abstract (up to 350 words)

   - Research Plan (up to 1,000 words)


● Key Writing Components:

   - Research Objectives and Background

   - Research Questions and Hypotheses

   - Methodology and Approach

   - Basic and in-depth knowledge of local martial arts (terminology, history, transmission, training, policies, etc.)

   - Relation to Gender Equality, Youth Development, and Well-being

   - Expected Results and Contributions

   - Timeline and Research Structure


● Notes:

   - Final research report must be at least 7,000 words

   - Age group: Aged 15 to 35 (Preferably)
