We are seeking an enthusiastic and talented Coordinator for the Transition Tāmaki team.

Te āheinga: The Opportunity

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a significant initiative that will shape the future of our vocational education landscape. Working closely with a small team and reporting to the Programme Director Tāmaki, you will be contributing to our strategic programme of work to ensure the successful delivery of MIT's and Unitec's Kaupapa.

The Project Coordinator provides coordination and administration expertise to support the delivery of all initiatives and projects that are prioritised.   

As the Programme Coordinator, you'll be the backbone of our project delivery, providing high-level coordination and administrative support across all initiative within the Transition team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining and monitoring project plans and schedules across the programme.
  • Organising project management meetings, documenting outcomes, and following up on key decisions.
  • Providing governance support to the Programme Director and team, including project documentation, risk registers, reporting, and decision tracking.
  • Offering advisory, administrative, and coordination support to ensure delivery of prioritised initiatives and projects.
  • Collaborating across teams to ensure consistent and pragmatic application of project management methodologies.
  • Developing resources to support project and change management implementation.
  • Supporting broader administrative and coordination tasks to help meet project milestones and outcomes.

Proven experience in project coordination or a similar role with strong organisational and time management skills. Strong communication skills are essential, as you will need to effectively convey ideas and updates to diverse stakeholders. You will have the opportunity to identify challenges and devise innovative solutions.

Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools (e.g., PRINCE2, Agile, MS Project) will ensure you hit the ground running. Empathy and support are key qualities we value, along with the ability to provide guidance and support to others. Being an excellent listener and providing constructive feedback are crucial, as is the ability to inspire others to achieve their best and foster a positive team environment. If you are responsive and agile and willing to undertake a variety of work you will enjoy this varied stimulating role.
